I held a Christmas Day worship service at sea last year on the ship I was on.  I thought to share it with you all…

Scripture Reading- (All verses from the New King James Bible)

*Isaiah 7:14= Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the Virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel (which is translated “God with us”- Matt.1:23)

*Isaiah 9:6-7= For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is Given; And the government will be on His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end…

*Matthew 1:21= And she will bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.

*Galatians 4:4= But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law. 5-to redeem those who were under law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

*John 1:1-5, 14.= In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. He was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 14. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

We are here today to Praise & Worship Jesus Christ, Our Lord & Savior, and celebrate His birth. Although Jesus was not born on Dec. 25 and nobody actually knows the exact date of His birth, this is the day that has been chosen to celebrate it. So we will!  Jesus was the single, most influential person to ever walk the face of the Earth. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a Virgin, and He was fully God and man at the same time. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

He (JESUS) had one purpose or reason for stepping out of eternity and taking on a human body, – He came here to die on the Cross, to pay the price for our sins, so we could all have a chance to have the penalty of our sins paid in full, as is required by God for us to get in to Heaven to spend eternity with Him. I would love to see people spend as much time with Jesus as they spend on sports and other worldly pursuits!

So often in society today, everyone is so busy with all the hustle & bustle of the “holiday” events, or just too much into their own sinful lifestyles and or sinful activities that they have no time or desire to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord! But the reality is that EVERYONE will confess that Jesus is Lord sooner or later.

Light has come into the world, but people love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil. For everyone practicing sin hates the light and does not want to come to the light (JESUS) lest their deeds be exposed. Jesus is the way, the truth, & the life, and He is the ONLY way to get to the Father in Heaven. Truly what good does it do if you have all the worldly wealth you can use, but lose your soul for all eternity! Behold, NOW is the accepted time, NOW is the day of Salvation.

*Because God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) He lived  a sinless earthly life as a humble servant and teacher. Growing up He was a carpenter, working in Joseph’s carpenter shop.

Jesus began His ministry when He was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, and then He was led in to the wilderness to be tempted by Satan, to which He always replied with a scripture quote. The Scribes and Pharisees were also constantly trying to trick Jesus with trick questions or traps of some kind  to get Him to contradict Himself or to prove him wrong. And throughout  history grave yards are littered with people that have unsuccessfully tried to discredit Jesus and the Bible, yet the Bible still remains as the most truthful and accurate book ever written/ printed.

The Bible also has numerous mentions of seafarers and people that make a living from ships and the sea……
